Today Y2 visited The Lowry. We had a fantastic day looking at the work of L.S. Lowry. The artist Isobel taught us how to draw in the style of Lowry. Our behaviour was outstanding. Mrs Adamson was very proud to walk through The Lowry and say, ‘We are Y2 from Woodfield School, Wigan.
Year Two had a fantastic day out at St. Helen’s World of Glass. We walked through the underground tunnels and watched a live glass blowing demonstration.
This week Year 1 have been practising their comprehension skills. Instead of answering questions today we had to think of our own questions. We read a nonfiction text called ‘where do sea shells come from?’. Then we thought of our own questions to ask about the text and got into to pairs to answer our partners questions.
This week Year 1 are naming and describing 3D shapes. Today we looked at everyday objects that are 3D shapes. Our task was to name the 3D shape. We worked together in teams to name the shapes.
Today as part of our D&T topic we have been dis using where our food comes from. We found out that food comes from plants or animals. Our task was to sort the foods and decide if they come from plants or animals.
